MELBOURNE: Buffet, a new trade show catering to streetwear retailers will launch next month with approximately 30 exhibitors on display.
Australian and international streetwear and accessory brands including Kangol, New Era, Wesc, Rocksmith, FTC, Akomplice and Feiyue are among those scheduled to show.
Organised by Australian Exhibitions and Conferences, which also runs trade fair Fashion Exposed, in conjunction with Acclaim magazine, the event will also feature a public expo and industry discussion forums.
Four seminars will be held, with topics including The Business of Street Fashion (in two parts), Retail and The Art of Contemporary Fashion. Issues explored will include starting out, marketing, dealing with distributors, developing in-house brands, visual merchandising and intellectual property rights.
Panellists include owner of clothing distribution company Orange Giant Agency Caine Cherubin, New York based owner of Staple Design Jeffstaple and founder of online store freshin.com Nick Denton.
The event will be held at The Factory in La Trobe Street Melbourne from February 26 to 28, with opening day for trade visitors only. Entry is free but tickets must be purchased for seminars.
