MELBOURNE: Sportsgirl has revealed its latest independent designer collaboration, with a spring racing theme key to the range.
Sydney designer Jessie Hill has created a seven piece collection for the young women’s retailer called ‘Butterfly Explosion’. Inspired by the 1960s music revolution, it has a feminine look with a rebellious edge.
Priced from $90 to $150, the collection includes a pleated day dress in coral red, tailored high waisted silk shorts and a leopard print dress with crystal bead embellishment.
A key element is an abstract digital silk print swirl to represent the movement of butterfly wings.
Hill has worked as a stylist for MTV in Los Angeles and a designer for cult street brand Buddhist Punk. She launched her eponymous label Jessie Hill in 2007.
The collection will be available online on Monday October 18 and will be in store on Thursday October 21.
Sportsgirl has been collaborating with designers for five years as part of its Sportsgirl Like program. Past participants include Konstantina Mittas, Ellery and Romance Was Born.
