The label, which currently operates 17 stores in New South Wales, has confirmed it will enter the Queensland market in 2012, with the first outlet scheduled for April.
The debut store will be located within Brisbane’s Wintergarden shopping complex on Queen Street Mall, with product to mirror that available in Sheike’s NSW stores. A second outlet at Carindale Westfield will launch during the second half of 2012.
Sheike director George Lazaridis said the move interstate was the logical next step for the brand, and there are plans to expand further in future.
“Our business is growing, and we have been looking for the right locations interstate now for a period of time. We have such a strong brand presence in NSW, expansion interstate really cements us as a leader in Australian fashion on a national level,” he said.
“At this stage we can confirm we will be rolling out new locations in Brisbane during 2012, as for the other states, well, you never know.
“It’s all about ensuring we capture the right locations that are strong for the brand and right for the customer.” Sheike has also launched a new website to support the brand’s growth and marketing manager Karleitia Bodlovic said the company is now in a position to significantly increase its online sales.
“We wanted to secure a space in the online market that is predicted to grow to $36 billion by 2013, and our new look website now reflects the look and aesthetic our stores have and where we now see our brand,” she said.
“Essentially we have created another retail store, allowing product to be managed in and out on a same time basis as our stores.
“Our goal is to grow our current online sales by over 500 per cent and we are well on the way to achieving this.”
