SYDNEY: A series of seminars at upcoming trade fair Fashion Exposed looks set to give industry players much needed direction amid the softening economy.

Until now a staple of Fashion Exposed's Melbourne edition, this was the first time the Industry Seminars series would take place during the Sydney version from March 8 to 10, a spokesperson for the event confirmed.

"Covering topics such as how to maximise sales potential within a recession environment, the series will be led by a group of professionals including Sarah Gale, director of Fashionista Business Consultancy Group."

Gale first started her buying career in the fashion industry in 1984, and has bought for major retail companies including Portmans, Sportsgirl, Kmart, Target, Witchery and Jacqui E. She has since specialised in trend forecasting and subsequently range development.

Other seminar speakers would include Christian Costemalle, fashion lecturer from ESMOD Paris and Heidi Dyt from WGSN.

"With economic uncertainty currently being felt by the industry, this season more than ever before Fashion Exposed will provide support and direction. Through new and existing features as well as hard hitting seminars by industry experts, Fashion Exposed will offer visitors the tools to move forward with confidence."
