NATIONAL: One designer will win a free catwalk show at a major Australian consumer fashion festival in this year's Chambord Shine Awards.
Eight to ten selected fashion designers will be invited by industry experts on the Chambord Council to enter the awards, with each given $1000 to produce a spring racing carnival garment.
The winning outfit will be judged on September 1 at a gala show in The Strand Arcade, Sydney. It will also be worn by a celebrity during the spring racing carnival season.
Leading up the final, garments from the designers will be showcased at events in Brisbane on June 29, Melbourne on July 6 and Sydney on July 7.
In addition to the official recommendations, designers are also welcome to put themselves forward for consideration.
Past winners of the award include independent designer Carl Kapp, and Adrian Norris, Bree Norris and Edwina Robinson of label AJE.
