SYDNEY: Rosemount Sydney Fashion Festival (RSFF) organisers will weigh in on the body image debate at an official media launch today (August 17).

IMG Fashion Asia Pacific will team up with designer Camilla Franks to launch the key message for this year's six day event, 'The fashion festival for every body'.

The launch will take the form of a 'live' photo shoot on the steps of RSFF's new venue, Sydney Town Hall. Models aged 18 to 60 and sizes six to 16 will model Camilla spring/summer 2010/11 designs in front of media and the public.

In addition, Franks will speak on her enduring brand philosophy, namely that clothes should not discriminate against age, colour, size or origin.

RSFF's new body image emphasis comes in the wake of the Australian government's acceptance in July 2010 of the National Advisory Group on Body Image's Voluntary Code of Conduct. The code encourages the fashion, media and advertising industries to use healthy weight models and to stock a wide variety of sizes, among other recommendations.

RSFF will run from August 23 to 28 and will incorporate catwalk shows, activities at an inner city 'festival hub' and satellite events. Over 133 designers will partake in this year's festival, which is the consumer follow-up to the trade-only Rosemount Australian Fashion Week.

Labels hosting stand-alone shows at this year's RSFF include Charlie Brown, Alex Perry, Bonds and Kookai.
