SYDNEY: Australian apparel businesses keen to enter the competitive retail environment are the focus of a new campaign by industry group Fashion Group International of Sydney (FGI).

The group is staging an interactive workshop aimed at educating would-be retailers on the perils and pitfalls of entering the competitive retail sector.

Other topics covered in the breakfast discussion, being held on August 13, include getting your label stocked by third party retailers, current trends in retail and the stand alone retail environment.

Moderated by Australian Fashion Partners director Serena Beirne, the line up includes Naked Fashion Marketing principal (and agent) Alicky Brown, Andiamo founder and designer Ronnie Sansonetti and Strelitzia owner and buyer Moira Peach.

The event will be staged at Esmod Design Institute in Sydney's Surry Hills.
