SYDNEY: Leading fashion business title Ragtrader has announced a series of changes to its editorial line up.

Assia Benmedjdoub has been anointed the magazine's new editor, taking over the reins from Tracey Porter. Porter, who has been with the magazine since 2005, is leaving to set up her own freelance writing and public relations business.

Benmedjdoub brings to the role a raft of experience, having already worked on the title for three years, the past 12 months of which were spent as features editor.

The changes, effective from September 11, also see two new reporters added to the Ragtrader team.

These include the appointment of former Drapers and Fairfax's Melbourne Weekly Magazine and City Weekly fashion journalist Melinda Oliver, along with UTS Communications graduate Erin O'Loughlin.

Both Oliver and O'Loughlin will work out of the magazine's Sydney office.

Benmedjdoub said she was excited about the challenge and looked forward to working with the new team.
