SYDNEY: The consumer component of Rosemount Australian Fashion Week will officially kick off tomorrow, with a trip into the event's history at the Powerhouse Museum.

An exhibition, Frock Stars: Inside Australian Fashion Week, will celebrate the 15th year of RAFW. It will delve into how it is staged and reveal the roles of major players such as producers, models, designers and volunteers.

Across various precincts it will explore how fashion week was established and present a catwalk display of significant outfits from over the years. It will present media commentary and give insight into the backstage glamour of models and makeup.

It will include a mock studio of designer Nicola Finetti to demonstrate how he puts together a collection for the runway.

Designers involved include Akira Isogawa, Collette Dinnigan, Michelle Jank, Easton Pearson, Zimmermann and Ksubi.

Frock Starts: Inside Australian Fashion Week runs from April 22 until August 29, 2010. It is located at the Powerhouse Museum, Sydney, with tickets required for entry.
