NATIONAL: Trade preparations for Rosemount Australian Fashion Week 2009 are already underway with a designer "boot camp" scheduled later this month.
The industry-only event will take at the Overseas Passenger Terminal in Sydney from April 27 to May 1.
Austrade is preparing to stage a series of fashion workshops in the lead up to the spring/summer 2009/10 showcase.
The first "boot camp" is scheduled for Thursday, 19 February and will cover export pricing and logistics. Speakers will include Austrade fashion export specialist Belinda Hay and DHL Express specialist Jamilia Dlala.
Hay and Dlala will offer tips and advice on shipping fashion products to international markets. The workshop will be staged in Sydney and connect via video conference to Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth.
Future workshops will include presentations on PR and marketing and tips on doing business with international buyers.
