Priscilla, queen of the desert-toned PJs

Aussie designer Bruno Schiavi has joined forces with international celebrity Priscilla Presley to create a range of luxury sleepwear.
The Priscilla Presley Collection will comprise pyjamas, robes and slippers as well as a range of homewares.
Schiavi described the sleepwear as "stylish and beautiful to wear " but despite the "luxury" tag, it would be affordably priced, he said.
The range - targeted at "anyone who loves Priscilla Presley" - features a palette of white, blue and burgundy, while a 100 per cent undyed organic line will also be available.
"We really wanted to get away from the traditional image of organic and tell people that organic can be luxurious," said Schiavi.
While the label's Australian distribution has not yet been finalised, Schiavi is currently negotiating distribution deals with two Australian department stores in time for the Australian launch early next year.
The label - which Schiavi described as "completely global" will also be launched in the UK, New Zealand and US in early 2006, followed by Italy, Germany, France and Japan mid-year.
Each range had been specifically designed with the tastes of its target market in mind, said Schiavi.
"For example Priscilla loves the Australian desert and the Australian collection is very strongly influenced by the colours of the desert."
The label would release two to three ranges a year and expand into fresh categories in the long term, he said.
Schiavi - whose Sydney-Los Angeles based company the Jupi Corporation has nurtured partnerships with celebrities including Aussie show business icon Delta Goodrem - said the deal with Presley had been one of the hardest to keep under wraps.
"It's been a secret for the last five or six months, I'm so glad I don't have to talk in code any more," he said.
Presley - who owned a Beverley Hills boutique in the 1970s - was "a pleasure to work with" and "had always had been passionate about fashion design," he said.
Of Presley's take on the label, "Priscilla says it's the most fun she's had since she did [1980s movie] Naked Gun," Schiavi said.
