SYDNEY: The first of three workshops organised by premier design market The Finders Keepers for up-and-coming creatives kicks off in Sydney this evening (October 14).

A two hour presentation on 'Design Online' – or how to sell and promote a design-based business on the web - will be hosted at Sydney CBD contemporary art space, Gaffa.

Speakers will include Angela D’Alton and Renee Baker from hand-made design website Leeloo; interior designer and blogger Dana Hughes of Yellowtrace; and Stuart and Robyn Buchanan from digital agency The Nest.

Future workshops will focus on 'The Business of Craft' and 'Design Marketing and PR'.

The workshops are part of The Finders Keepers' Arcade Project at Gaffa. Running from September to December 2010, the Arcade Project involves emerging designers running small 'pop up' stores within the Gaffa space.

Brands on show until October 26 include accessories labels South for the Summer, Wah-Wah Wears and Likkle Girl, as well as millinery label Jinny & Jude Designs.

Founded in Sydney in 2007 by Sarah Thornton and Brooke Johnston, The Finders Keepers is a bi-annual market selling wares created by independent and emerging designers. The past three years have seen the market expand into Melbourne and Brisbane.
