SYDNEY: Pink Zebra is branching out from its core business as a mixed label retailer to offer fashion travel experiences for women to the US.
Themed ‘Fashion Insiders’, the group tours to Los Angeles and New York are designed to reveal the best shopping locations in each city. Luxury accommodation, style advice workshops, VIP store experiences, meetings with brand owners and champagne breakfasts will be included.
Pink Zebra director Sarah Paykel, a former Esprit general manager, said the new venture is a response to constant queries from customers about the life of a fashion buyer/fashion business owner. She said Pink Zebra has partnered with a travel company to combine its local fashion knowledge with travel expertise.
Paykel said the company’s American label suppliers have been happy to cooperate on the venture, with some to host meetings with the groups. She hopes the travel division will become a substantial arm of the company, with possible future trips to London, Hong Kong and Paris.
The week-long travel experiences will commence in 2011. The first Los Angeles tour departs on Sunday February 27 and the New York tour leaves on Sunday May 1.
Pink Zebra operates five boutiques across Melbourne and Sydney and imports a number of US designer brands including Rich & Skinny, Vince, Christopher Fischer, Michael Stars, JBrand and Kate Spade. The company also has an e-commerce division, a wholesale arm and a customer loyalty program. It recently opened a store in Sydney city centre as well as a Mosman location.
