SYDNEY: Peter Morrissey’s relationship with Big W is to continue with the designer set to reveal his autumn/winter 2011 offer.
The ranges, Woman and Man by Peter Morrissey, are priced at under $100 per garment. It follows Morrissey’s first apparel range for the price conscious retailer in summer 2010 and earlier lingerie collection.
For women, the winter line offers both day and evening options. Classic grey, black, military green and leopard print feature. Styles include trench coats, satin blouse tops, fitted zip-front dresses, wool skirts and wool box jackets. They will appear in Big W stores nationally from February 19.
For men, slim fit jeans, tailored shirts and fitted T-shirts are key. A double-breasted black pea coat is a statement piece, priced at $69.92. Black and grey are the main colours offered. The men’s items will be launched on February 14.
Peter Morrissey has been a fashion designer for over 25 years, starting label Morrissey Edmiston with designer Leona Edmiston, before launching his own label Morrissey. Webster Holdings purchased Morrissey from Oroton Group in 2006. He parted ways with Webster Holdings and the Morrissey brand at the end of 2008.
Morrissey also designs work uniforms for a number of Australian companies, including Qantas, Novotel hotels and McDonalds.
