NATIONAL: Australian pattern-makers say they have become increasingly friendly with debt collectors and process servers.

The forgotten victims of the global financial crisis fall out say they have been forced to drastically alter the way they do business because of an increase in the number clients not paying their bills.

One pattern-maker said the problem had become "all too acceptable" and fashion business could not expect to become complacent about this type of behaviour.

"I do not want to become known as a litigious pattern-maker but I, among other senior pattern-makers, am totally fed up with this sort of behaviour," she noted.
