MELBOURNE: Pacific Brands has announced plans to increase its local retail presence following the renewal of two key footwear licences.
The CEO of the stalwart fashion business, Sue Morphet, revealed it has renewed the licences for the footwear brands Hush Puppies and Clarks.
“As part of those licence renewals, we will be complementing the wholesale business with an increased retail presence,” Morphet said.
“Our licence partners have had significant success overseas with a complementary retail network and we are very confident that, with support from our partners, we will have similar success here in Australia in entering retail with Clarks and Hush Puppies,” Morphet said.
She added the renewal of the Hush Puppies and Clarks licences meant that all of Pacific Brands' licences in the footwear, outerwear and sports category were now secured. Other licensed brands in the category include apparel labels Everlast, Mossimo and Superdry.
Morphet indicated Pacific Brands also plans to expand the local retail presence of Superdry. The company currently operates two Superdry stores in Sydney's CBD and Melbourne's Chadstone shopping centre.
