MELBOURNE: Oroton Group has gone silent on its social networking strategy, pulling out of the 2010 Digital Marketing and Media Summit yesterday.
Oroton marketing director Janine Garner was set to participate in a panel discussion themed 'What social media strategy and execution means for brands today'.
Garner was also scheduled to present an Oroton case study themed 'Blogger Outreach'.
It is understood the listed company pulled out after media coverage of its presentation, suggesting concerns its digital strategy could be revealed to delegates outside the seminar.
The Sydney-based group is responsible for Oroton and Polo Ralph Lauren operations in Australia.
The summit was held at the Sebel Hotel, Albert Park in Melbourne on December 2.
Previous seminar participants have included department store giant Myer.
