ADELAIDE: South Australian shoppers will be able to shop around the clock in Adelaide's CBD in the lead up to Christmas. A special trading exemption will allow city retailers to open for business from midnight on December 21 to 5pm on Christmas Eve. To kick-off the post Christmas clearance sales, retailers will also be able to trade continuously for four days from December 28 to 31.

MELBOURNE: World famous fashion designer Stella McCartney will expand her adidas by Stella McCartney range in the new year with the launch of a range of tennis apparel. The collection, which will consist of skirts, tennis dresses, shoes, crop jackets and singlets, will be stocked by David Jones and the new adidas Sports Performance store which will open on Bourke Street in Melbourne in December. Retail price points for the collection will range from $40 to $350.

NEWCASTLE: Fashion wholesalers and retailers will be able to view the works of up-and-coming designers at the annual Art Bazaar markets in Newcastle on December 3. Approximately 15 fashion students from Hunter TAFE will be running a boutique-style stall, dubbed The Curiosity Shop, selling hand-made, designer pieces including jewellery, clothing, leather bags, lingerie, hats and belts.

SYDNEY: Gowings has closed its Wynard store in Sydney due to its poor financial performance. Approximately 10 jobs were cut in the process while 14 permanent staff plus stock were relocated to the company's landmark store on the corner of Market and George Streets. At the time of press there were no immediate plans to close the remaining stores in the CBD and Hornsby.

MELBOURNE: Designer Scott Kilmartin has launched bag label Haul, a range of industrial style bags made from recycled billboard advertisements. The bags are available in three sizes and range in price from $170 to $195. Haul owners curious about the origins of their bag can tap into the label's website at haul.com.au and punch in the five digit swing tag code to reveal an image of the billboard that inspired their bag.
