On the move


Kenneth Terry and John Leece have joined the board of fashion, music and DVD retailer Brazin as non-executive independent directors.
Terry brings to the board more than 30 years experience in commercial and retail management having held several senior executive and board roles with Dymocks, Sheridan, Gowings and Sussan.
Leece, who boasts 39 years financial and business advisory experience, joins the company from chartered accountants Borough Mazards, where he is currently employed as managing partner. Leece has also served on a number of professional committees and divisional council for the Australian accounting profession and is a fellow of both the Australian Society of CPA's and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia.

Stepping up
Fashion footwear and accessory retailer Zu has appointed David Gibbs to the role of general manager.
Gibbs brings to the role extensive experience in retail management, having held several senior positions with UK retailers Tesco, River Island, Woolworths and Next Generation.
"I look forward to building on the brand's integrity and continuing to surprise the local market with leading brands from overseas by heightening Zu's fashion offer in both accessories and footwear," he said.

In a spin
Josh Flinn has been appointed office manager of Australian Fashion Innovators.
Flinn joins the company from Sydney-based public relations company Spin Communications where he was employed as showroom coordinator for approximately 11 months. In his new role Flinn will assist in the organisation of the Mercedes Australian Fashion Week directory and the Mercedes-Benz Start Up program.

Director retires
Duncan Shaw has retired from the board of G Retail. Shaw, who had been a director of the company since its listing on the Australian Stock Exhange in late 2001, decided to step down from his position in light of other professional committments.

Lewis joins AWTA
John Lewis has been appointed division manager of AWTA Textile Testing. Lewis replaces Bob Doyle who left the company on August 12.

Riding the wave
