:Eistseddfod winners
MELBOURNE: The winners of youth-oriented fashion design competition Fashion Eisteddfod 2005 were announced at fashion and entertainment event Gorgeous 2005 in Melbourne this month. Selected from a list of 120 finalists - winners were divided into secondary and tertiary education sections, across the categories of beachwear, glamour, denim, underwear & sleepwear and streetwear. The secondary winners were: beachwear: Natalie Mariniello (Emmaus College, Burwood); glamour: Bradley Monro (Bendigo Senior Secondary College); denim: Tamara Izsak (Bialik College, Hawthorn) underwear and sleepwear: Laura Wade (St Columbus College, Essendon) and streetwear; Lauren Glasson (Sacred Heart College, Newtown). Tertiary winners included Priscilla Lim, Jane Heng, Fiona Lau, Beth Haynes (all RMIT) and Mai Giang (Kangan Batman TAFE).
:Rebel results
SYDNEY: Sporting goods retailer Rebel Sport has reported a 7.3 per cent increase in sales revenue to $77.8 million for the three months ended October 1, 2005. Sales on a same store basis increased by 2.4 per cent. In the quarter to December 2005, the company will open two new stores in Shepparton and Fountain Gate in Victoria.
:Brunsdon expands
SYDNEY: Designer Jayson Brunsdon has announced plans to open his first store in Sydney's The Strand Arcade. Opening in November, the designer will find himself in fine company with Alannah Hill, Alex Perry, Bettina Liano and Lisa Ho already boasting stores in the complex. The expansion is viewed as a natural progression for Brunsdon who started his own label in 2004 after making his name as a creative designer at Morrissey.
