A graduate of Parsons School of Design (New York), the American-based womenswear designer is currently stocked in a selection of upmarket department stores and boutiques including Barneys NYC and Eva & Jeffrey. The launch spring/summer 2011/12 range features a range of textured accessories in rock crystal, gold, silver and semi-precious stones as well as a collection of breezy separates and dresses in soft organic cotton, silk organza and sustainable wool and silk blends.
Pieces are embellished with gold zippers, shards of rock crystal and silk organza windows. The 40 piece range, which is priced from $150 to $700, is being distributed by Sydney-based Paul Maloney Fashion Agency. Twitt nominates the leather bow front shorts, silk jersey seperates and pastel, laser cut leather shorts as highlight pieces.
“Being my original home, I always planned on entering the Australian market,” she said. “We want to start off small and focus on developing a strong, high-fashion boutique presence and grow from there. We do slightly tweak the collection for the market but having grown up here I’m finding my design aesthetic works well.”
