SYDNEY: Young fashion label Nookie is staging its first on schedule solo show at Rosemount Australian Fashion Week, ahead of a retail store launch this year.
Run by designer Nikita Sernack, the label will reveal its 45 outfit summer collection at the industry event in May. The brand’s first store is due to launch in Bondi, Sydney, in August.
Launched in 2003, the brand has drawn on a 1970’s theme, with romantic rock and roll inspired styles. Body hugging dresses, casual-chic tailored pieces, sheer knits and sporty touches are in the mix.
The label also has a lower priced swimwear line, Nookie Beach, which launched in 2006. Made in Australia, the two lines are stocked in over 150 retail stores nationally. They are also stocked in the US.
