Noni B appoints new director

Womenswear retailer Noni B has launched into another round of executive reshuffling.

Less than a year since founder Alan Kindl announced his retirement as managing director - replaced jointly by James and Alan Kindl - the company announced Jocelyn Morton as the replacement for Robert Critchley as a director of the company. Critchley, who indirectly held 379,184 shares in Noni B at the time of press, stepped down from his position earlier this month.

The appointment follows a difficult year for the Sydney-headquartered company, which was forced to pull its 'La Voca' branded stores in the face of declining sales. The closure resulted in restructuring charges of $2.5 million after tax for fiscal 2008, along with trading losses of $2 million for the brand.

Overall profit for the year was $7 million, compared with $8.7 million in the previous year.
