NEW ZEALAND: Trelise Cooper, Zambesi and Nom D will be among the largest ever line up of designers to show at the forthcoming New Zealand Fashion Week (NZFW).
To be held from September 21 to 25 in Auckland, the industry week will see around 60 labels hit the catwalk. Stolen Girlfriends Club, Annah Stretton, Sabatini and Stitch Ministry will also show, along with Australian labels Ellery, Fernando Frisoni and Megan Park.
A US designer, Nicole Miller, will feature on the catwalk as the event’s international guest.
The week will see a new wedding designer show featuring seven labels, along with a ten year retrospective show featuring best things from the event’s history. Also on schedule is Miromoda, which nurtures the development of Maori fashion designers, offering them a chance to show on the catwalk.
NZFW reported that former naming rights sponsor Air New Zealand will continue to sponsor the event at an “elite level”. Among other sponsors are Westpac, Moet and Chandon and Price Waterhouse Coopers, which will sponsor the New Generation show. IBM will be naming sponsor of the Designer Selection Shows and VISA will also offer support.
