NATIONAL: Mercury Brands Limited, parent company of the collapsed Mercury Brands Group, has appointed two new directors to its board.
Santino Di-Giacomo and Peter Stafford have joined the embattled company, following the resignation of former director Phillip Thomas. As reported in Ragtrader magazine, Mercury Brands Group was forced to sell off its men's, women's and children's wear portfolio in October after entering administration the previous month.
Parent company Mercury Brands Limited has maintained its intention to move forward under a new team. Di-Giacomo has over 21 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, including a 12 year tenure at UK-based Provalis Group where he held a number of senior international executive positions.
Di-Giacomo was reponsible for capital raising and expansion initiatives under the group, as well as major health care and licensing contracts. He is also the founder of Advance Healthcare Group, a pharmaceutical and surgical wholesale supplier with turnover in excess of $100 million.
Stafford is a founding partner of public accounting company Staffod Whelan and is a member of several financial organisations in Australia. He has also been a "referee" for government advisory firm Business Victoria for the last 10 years.
