NATIONAL: David Jones has yanked yet another department store exclusive from its rival Myer.
The Sydney-based company will stock the camilla and marc label from spring/summer 2010, unleashing both its ready-to-wear collection and swimwear line in key stores from August.
The womenswear label was previously stocked at Myer and was featured heavily in the department store's autumn/winter 2010 campaign material.
Co-founder Camilla Freeman-Topper said while the brand had been "highly successful" through Myer, she believed David Jones was better suited to its long term growth strategy.
"David Jones has built a strong reputation of being home to the best local and international brands as well as having unparalleled customer service. This, coupled with the synergy of both our brands has us excited about the development of our business within David Jones."
This is the second such defection this year, with iconic designer Carla Zampatti also exclusively signing on to David Jones from autumn/winter 2010.
The camilla and marc label was launched in 2003 as a brother-sister collaboration between Camilla Freeman-Topper and Marc Freeman. It counts Kate Bosworth, Kirsten Dunst and Rose Byrne among its key celebrity clients.
