SYDNEY: An emerging fashion designer has been selected as a finalist in the InStyle and Audi $10,000 Style Scholarship.
Sydney-based Danielle Van Camp will compete with Brisbane-based furniture designer Emma Elizabeth Coffey for the lucrative prize.
Van Camp recently graduated with a Bachelor in Fashion and Textile Design from University of Technology Sydney and is working on her own fashion brand. Her graduate collection, 'If I Were You' was shown at the recent L'Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival Metamorphosis Student Showcase.
Coffey graduated in 2006 with a degree in set design from the Istituto Europeo di Design in Milan, before returning to Australia and becoming an interiors stylist and freelance commercial designer.
In 2009 the scholarship winner was fashion designer Rachael Cassar, who used the grant to help fund an exhibition at London Fashion Week.
The scholarship is held in conjunction with the InStyle and Audi Women of Style Awards, which recognise renowned women for their contribution to the fields of fashion, business, arts/culture, charity/community, design, entertainment, beauty and environment.
The winner will be awarded at a red carpet event on May 11, at which the winners from the InStyle and Audi Women of Style Awards will also be honoured.
