NATIONAL: High-end accessory brand Mimco will take the extraordinary step of donating 100 per cent of all net profits from sales tomorrow to the Queensland Flood Relief Appeal.
Profits will be donated from all boutique locations across Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and the United Kingdom. The retailer has warned that boutiques in Queensland could be closed as directed by authorities, however.
UPDATE 2:34pm: Jeanswest has announced it will donate all profits from all stores trading this Saturday to the Queensland Premier's Flood Relief Appeal.
UPDATE 4:00pm: Mimco sister company Witchery announces it will match Mimco's profit donation tomorrow.
As reported earlier this week, Sydney industry faces have banded together to create several initiatives to raise funds for the cause. All have since confirmed an influx of donations from fashion companies.
Celebrity stylist Donny Galella and fashion PR guru Sara Bray have received a wave of new product or voucher donations for a raffle being hosted later this month. New companies to come on board include Luxottica, Lorna Jane, Bras n Things and AM Eyewear.
Event organiser Lara Karamian has also reported a rise in product donations for an online auction of products via Ebay. Dubbed 'FashionAid', the auction will now include products from Nookie, Valerie Tolosa, Little Joe by Gail Elliot, Nicola Finetti and Michael Lo Sordo.
