NATIONAL: Myer has announced it will introduce plus size fashion into its forthcoming spring/summer 2009 catwalk parades.
A number of plus size models will share the catwalk with Myer ambassador Jennifer Hawkins and present collections stocked by the department store. Plus size labels in the Myer stable include Basque Woman, Jane Lamerton, TS 14+, Nouvelle Woman and Estelle.
It is the first time Myer has included plus size brands in its much publicised seasonal shows.
Myer recently recently introduced two plus sized brands, Monroe and Flirt, for women aged 16 to 34. These labels are presented on the shop floor adjacent to the department store's younger contemporary fashion section, rather than in a plus size precinct.
In addition, this month Myer is launching a new bridal offering by designer Toni Maticevski, which can be custom made up to size 24. The collection, Maticevski Sweethearts will be stocked in 20 stores across the country.
The catwalk shows will take place in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth throughout August and September.
