NATIONAL: Moschino eyewear has returned to the Australian market for summer 2010 as part of a charity initiative by the Brotherhood of St. Laurence.
The Italian label is represented by wholesale optical distributor Mod-Style, which is a business that belongs to the not-for-profit community organisation. The eyewear range has not been available locally for 18-months.
Profits from the sale of the collection will go towards assisting Australian families in need.
Brotherhood of St. Laurence general manager of social enterprises Jeff Moon said the initiative followed similar trends overseas, where luxury brands are developing collaborations with a social imperative.
“We’ve worked hard to negotiate the distribution rights for the Australian market, and we’re excited to be bringing Moschino eyewear back," he said.
The range includes 12 styles of sunglasses and 25 different optical frames. Finishes such as Swarovski crystals, pearls, silver, gold and metallic bows are part of the collection. A key look is a heart shaped red frame, available in a limited run.
Prices start from $389 for the optical range and from $329 for sunglasses.
Brazilian model Alessandra Ambrosio is the face of the current season campaign. Products will be available in selected boutiques nationally.
