PERTH: Morrison will tackle new markets over the next six months when it launches its first ever resort range and unveils three new stores.
The womenswear label has long designed resort-style pieces, but designer Kylie Radford confirmed that spring/summer 2010/11 will see the launch of Morrison's first stand-alone resort line.
The all-white collection will feature summer dresses, tops and bottoms in embellished cottons.
The Perth-based label will also open three more stand-alone boutiques by the close of 2010, with the first to open in June. The new locations will add to Morrison's eight existing boutiques, its online store and its vast number of wholesale accounts.
Radford also revealed the spring/summer 2010/11 collection will see the return of prints to Morrison's womenswear range, something the designer has not featured since Morrison's very early days. Radford said the explosion in digital printing's popularity had encouraged her to experiment with the technology.
The key digital print for summer is a large floral pattern in midnight blue, cream and deep red and is showcased in the 'Mariella' dress and top.
Morrison was founded in Fremantle in 2002 by Radford and her husband Richard Poulson. The business now employs over 75 staff across Perth, Melbourne and Sydney.
