MELBOURNE: Designer Ray Costarella is set to launch his second boutique concept, which will see his label, Aurelio Costralla, sold alongside brands from Brazil.

Called Eliza Baker, the new store will be located in East Prahran, Melbourne and is due to open on July 26. It is a joint project with Melbourne-based fashion agency Alchera, run by Domenique Nestel and Jocelyn Kahil.

Alchera specialises in importing labels from Brazil. Therefore Brazilian womenswear labels such as Osklen, Coven and Zeferino will accompany Aurelio Costarella on the shop floor.

The store will also stock eco-friendly brand Song.

Alchera director Domenique Nestel said she had known Costarella and his business partner Paul O'Connor for around 20-years and they had long considered a joint project.

"It was important for him [Ray Costarella] to have a retail presence in Melbourne," she said. "Not a big expansion, but one beautiful salon store to showcase and move stock through."

Costarella also runs a store in Perth called POST Emporium, which he launched three-and-a-half years ago.
