Mailman struggles under awards weight

The Surry Hills postman has never had it so tough.
With just under a week to go before nominations for the 2006 Ragtrader TNT Retailer of the Year Awards close, nominations for this year's awards are already up on previous years with a significant increase in both the number of boutique and chain nominations received.
The surge has been prompted by a series of changes introduced to this year's awards as part of plans to better differentiate between large and small chains while also acknowledging the unique of offerings from boutiques.
The full list of categories includes under-20 and over-20 chains, as well as best kidswear retailer, best menswear retailer, best womenswear retailer, best youth retailer and best mature market retailer.
The addition of the extra categories are just one of many changes made for this year's awards, which include the introduction of an industry panel, together with the switching of an award event from a luncheon to a cocktail evening.
Judging for the awards will take place during October with winners announced during a glittering cocktail function at Sydney's The Establishment on November 29.
