NATIONAL: Emerging Australian fashion designers have the chance to win $10,000 worth of international freight services and export advice.

The prize, from logistics company DHL, is through the inaugural DHL Express Fashion Export Scholarship for Australian designers. It is open to designers who have been exporting for less than four years.

DHL provided a similar scholarship in 2008 to the New Zealand market. This was won by independent brand Stolen Girlfriends Club, designed by Marc Moore, Dan Gosling and Luke Harwood.

The label is now sold in the US, the UK, Japan, China, Singapore, Hong Kong and Dubai. It showed last night on the catwalk at Rosemount Australian Fashion Week in Sydney.

Entrants must submit a design portfolio, which will be judged by fashion industry leaders for design, marketing, business strategy and export potential. Entries close on Tuesday June 8.
