MELBOURNE: The two creative directors of Bally have been announced as surprise guest speakers at the forthcoming L’Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival (LMFF).
Switzerland-based Graeme Fidler and Michael Herz will speak at the LMFF Business Seminar on March 17, 2011.
Fidler and Herz were appointed as creative directors of the luxury label in early 2010, overseeing all aspects of design. Their first collection for Bally was autumn/winter 2011.
Fidler was formerly head of menswear at British label Aquascutum, where Herz was head of its womenswear division.
The pair will join other international speakers at the seminar including publisher and co-founder of Dazed and Confused magazine Jefferson Hack and Acne chief executive officer Mikael Schiller.
LMFF will be held from March 14 to 20 at various venues in Melbourne’s Docklands precinct. Australian actress Melissa George is this year’s celebrity ambassador. It is the first year magazine publisher Grant Pearce has been in the role of creative director.
The official program of catwalk shows and other events will be released on February 9.
