SYDNEY: High profile streetwear label Ksubi has agreed to a five-year licensing deal with Sydney eyewear company Sunshades.

The agreement, which runs through to April 2014, will see the Sydney-based sunglass group develop, manufacture and distribute the Ksubi branded eyewear collection.

It marks the first time Ksubi has licensed any of its product lines.

Ksubi founder, George Garrow, will oversee all eyewear design, marketing visuals and existing public relations activity.

Gorrow said the deal was a natural extension to the significant ground work the brand had put into its collection in recent years including the introduction of hand made acetates, three-dimensional moulded titanium and Japanese-made product and optical frames.

The new arrangement would see the two companies work together to build Ksubi eyewear into a "powerhouse, global eyewear brand", Gorrow said. The Ksubi 2009 collection will be shown in September for an October delivery.

Other brands in the Sunshades stable include Karen Walker, Le Specs, Blinde, Oroton and Flint.
