The Little Hussy collection, made up of 12 styles and three different prints, will launch in-store and online by September, with a second batch of new product to drop in October. The range will focus on summer and winter lines initially, at a price point of $35 through to $99, with pieces crafted from silk, chiffon and crepe, as well as rayon-crepe and cotton. Hussy director and head designer Marie Hatzis said she currently has no plans to wholesale the childrenswear range, preferring to offer the collection exclusively via the Hussy e-store and three standalone outlets in Sydney and Melbourne, with the exception of one stockist in Bondi. “At this stage, we are only producing very limited size runs and retailing through our own stores. We will wait to see how it evolves in the future, but I do like the fact that like Hussy for adults, we do such limited quantities – and thus offering such exclusivity to the labels,” she said. “The target market is women that have grown up with our Hussy brand over the 17 years I have been designing for and have a little girl in their lives and want to have her wearing the little version of the Hussy range that they have loved for much of their adult life. But we are wanting to keep it quite exclusive.” Hatzis confirmed the brand will promote Little Hussy via window displays and its 20,000-strong customer database, and said the label is also looking to expand its retail network. “We will wait to see where it goes from here with the growth of the Hussy brand and new retail spaces that become available to us in the future. With the right investor, we would be interested in developing our retail footprint within Australia and internationally,” she said. Daniela Aroche
