NATIONAL: Australian fashion designer Peter Morrissey is recovering from emergency surgery for an aneurysm in his brain.
Morrissey was diagnosed with a small cerebral aneurysm on Saturday morning (27 June), after he was rushed to hospital with an "excruciating" headache and nausea on Friday evening.
Dr Richard Parkinson, who operates at St Vincent's and Prince of Wales hospitals, performed emergency surgery yesterday morning (28 June).
"Peter has done brilliantly. He had a ruptured brain aneurysm which I operated on using a coiling technique which is non invasive surgery. The aneurysm has been completely repaired," he said.
Morrissey remained at the Prince of Wales hospital and was expected to make a full recovery.
Last week, the Sydney-based designer unveiled his uniform line for luxury hotel group Novotel.
