NATIONAL: The TCF Technology Network (TCFTN) has been charged with helping to bring the fragmented TCF industry closer together.
Peter Kreitals, head of the textile clothing and footwear body, has been contracted by Senator Kim Carr's Department of Innovation, Industry, Science and Research to help establish a new working group aimed at driving innovation among apparel manufacturers, wholesalers and suppliers.
The group, to be dubbed Enterprise Connect TCF Innovation Network, has a raft of key objectives including facilitating links between companies and researchers both within and outside of the industry, establishing information exchange through workshops, seminars and industry working groups and encouraging uptake of relevant Enterprise Connect programs.
In a statement sent to existing TCFTN members, Kreitals has appealed for industry employees to register interest in the group and to detail areas of concern.
The group has been issued with interim funding for the project, pending the federal government's decision on the recommendations of Professor Roy Green's TCF Review expected in May.
