MELBOURNE: Demand for green fashion doesn't appear to be waning, with a new industry seminar series set to address the latest innovations in sustainable fabrics and production.
The Technical Textiles and Nonwoven Association (TTNA) has lined up five trade specialists and suppliers to discuss 'Renewable Inputs for the Textile Industry' next week.
The seminar, understood to be the first of many "green" programs planned by the TTNA this year, aimed to explore sustainability and renewable raw materials in the production of fibres and textiles.
Ecofibre Industries Limited founder Phil Warner would look at the benefits of using hemp fibres to produce garments while a representative of the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission would offer tips on avoiding pitfalls in "green" themed promotions and marketing.
The seminar would run from 9am to 1.30pm on April 2 at RMIT University.
