UNITED KINGDOM: Online retail giant Figleaves.com has added womenswear to its existing offering of lingerie, swimwear, sleepwear and beachwear. The move, which took effect from mid-April, will see the 10-year-old company introduce a line aimed at "the busy working woman". Styles include basic wardrobe essentials and on-trend pieces such as Grecian dresses and Capri pants. A handful of other brands - including Splendid, American Vintage, Citizens of Humanity and Hudson Jeans - will also launch on the site at the same time.
Barney's bail out
UNITED STATES: The parent company of New York retailer Barneys' has elected to pour a sum believed to be around $US25 million ($A34.6 million) into the chain to ensure deliveries of its autumn merchandise continue uninterrupted. Istithman World Capital said while it felt Barneys was strong enough to survive without the support, it decided to go ahead with the move to help appease vendors. The company said while it would continue to monitor the company's performance management was confident no further injections would be needed.
M&S teams with Rhodes
UNITED KINGDOM: Iconic designer Zandra Rhodes is the latest high profile name to sign up to do a collaboration with high street retail group Marks & Spencer (M&S). Launching instore on May 7, the collaboration sees Rhodes creative prints and signature designs launched across a new range of M&S womenswear, accessories, resortwear and lingerie.
Key highlights from the range include jumpsuits in spiral and rose prints, a snakeskin print cut out swimsuit, bikini and oversized tote, butterfly print scarves in red and black and cute oversize bow prints cami and bra sets. Available across 55 stores nationwide as well as online, collection prices range from £6 ($A12) for a pair of knickers up to £89 ($A184) for a silk one shoulder dress.

INDIA: Multi-format retail group Spencer's has announced plans to launch stand-alone stores for foreign apparel brands.
