Hearts open
Hearts skipped a beat when luxury label Bally teamed with consumer mag Marie Claire to launch its Red Shoes charity promotion in Bally's Pitt Street store in Sydney recently. The brand created a range of limited edition red satin shoes to help support the Heart Foundation campaign with proceeds from their sale going directly to the foundations 'Go Red for Women' campaign.
Howard Showers
Reality television star and former model Charlotte Dawson added a touch of warmth to a cold day when she introduced the relaunch of The Discovery Group (TDG) brand Howard Showers recently. The Foxtel star, an old friend of TDG owners Danny Avidan and Charlie Brown, celebrated the brand's 21st birthday with a morning soiree at Sydney's Pavillion on the Park.
Standing room only
Womenswear designer Rachel Gilbert gave the term 'packed to the rafters' a whole new meaning at her spring/summer 2009 launch. Staged at upmarket Sydney nightspot Hemisphere bar, the event saw guests standing shoulder-to-shoulder well before the parade kicked off. Australian Idol contestant and pop star Jessica Mabouy was on hand to sing the scuffles away.
Looking back
Streetwear brand Puma paid homage to its past after celebrating its retro heritage via a series of parties across the country recently. Utilising the opportunity to introduce new brand ambassador Nacho Pop to a wider audience, the brand invited loyal followers to events across Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. Pictured at the brand's Sydney event is Rachel Smith with Sharnie and Rachel Ferguson.
