Those in the fashion business love nothing more than a good knees-up and a chance to get out and about. Below Ragtrader produces the photographic evidence.

Rise and shine

Ecco Shoes has learnt that if you can't conjure up a personal appearance to from Australia's own Princess Mary to celebrate your 15th store opening then getting Danish ambassador Susanne Shine to say a few words is probably the next best thing.

All that glitters

When consumer magazines do an awards show, they tend not to do things by halves. In celebrating the naming of high street retailer Country Road as the best Australian Fashion Brand in its annual Prix de Marie Claire awards, the monthly title employed the use of a 35-metre custom built single round table together with 40 custom made French Chateau table lamps, 16 Chandeliers, 2000 Roses and more than 1000 candles. Seen enjoying the action was high-profile businesswoman Elle MacPherson and editor Jackie Frank.

Snapped by Crocs

Shoe retailer Crocs celebrated its arrival at Sydney's Chatswood with a hiss and a roar, previewing its new "fashion forward" collection to a range of media and fashion followers last month. The event saw models teaming their Crocs with swimwear, athletic outfits, winter ensembles and outdoorwear while positioned on giant podiums throughout the store.

Sparkling talent

The invite described the dress code as "fashionable" but despite the stunning array of outfits on offer, guests paled into comparison against Toni Maticevski's spectacular retrospective collection shown at Sydney hot spot the Ivy late last month. Dubbed the 'Agum Collection' and sponsored by Schweppes, the show featured a selection of pieces that either never made it to the runway or were private client pieces.
