Balinese-born Sydney designer threw out the welcome mat when conducting the official launch of her first store in Sydney recently. Boasting a lifestyle collection designed for the "intrepid modern woman", the Crown Street flagship store showcases an eclectic mix of fashion and accessories.

Seasonal sports

Early February saw Sportsgirl curing Melbourne's fashion crowd of Monday-itis in style. Taking place at Crown Towers, Southbank on Monday February 2, the evening featured a peppy fashion parade in honour of Sportsgirl's key looks for autumn/winter 2009.

Sweet as

Following its recent brand overhaul womenswear label Brown Sugar officially marked the beginning of a new era on February 3 with a fashion show and cocktail party to showcase its "new look" autumn winter offering.

Festive fun

Amid a flurry of fashion, drinks and speeches, media and industry were given a taste of things to come at the launch of the 2009 L'Oréal Melbourne Fashion Festival (LMFF) on February 10 at Central Pier, Docklands. LMFF 2009 will take place from March 15 to 22.

Eyewear extravaganza

Shakuhachi owner Jessie White and Lucy Waugh of Sydney firm Out & About PR were among those who were fortunate enough to score an invite to the "good excuse of a party" party staged by AM Eyewear earlier this month. Staged on a rooftop in Sydney's Darlinghurst the event doubled as a thank you to the brand's many supporters.
