SYDNEY: Industry buyers weren't the only ones to get a dose of Project Runway action at Fashion Exposed.
Casting directors for the reality television program extended deadlines for applications - which closed on March 6 - after paying a visit to the trade fair, which ran from March 8 to 10 at Sydney's Exhibition and Convention Centre.
Aired on Foxtel's Arena channel, the show aims to unearth new designer talent by putting successful applicants through a series of challenges. It is understood after viewing collections at the fair's Debut and Preview sections - which showcase emerging fashion brands - casters invited designers to apply for the program.
The trade fair launched two days after applications for Project Runway's second series officially closed.
As reported on Ragtrader Online, Project Runway judge and retail consultant Sarah Gale was also on hand to present a seminar during the last day of the fair. The Fashionista Business Consultancy Group founder lectured on 'Maximising Sales Potential within a Recession Environment'.
