number of structural changes are scheduled for the trade event this year, following several executive departures in 2011 including Australian general manager Daniel Hill and local marketing executive Graeme Lewsey.
IMG Fashion worlwide managing director Peter Levy told Ragtrader the firm would take a “behind the scenes” approach to the event, a sharp departure from the headline-grabbing days of event founder Simon Lock. Levy said this meant a general manager would not be appointed for the Australian market for the first time, in line with other global shows.
It is understood a local designer relations manager, similar to that of former executive Lucia Labbate, will be secured however. Other key changes will include new runway options, major venue/date changes in 2013 and potential partnerships with local trade shows.
