MELBOURNE: Just a month shy of the 15th annual Rosemount Australian Fashion Week, RMIT University is set host a public lecture canvassing the future of the world's fashion weeks.
The university's School of Fashion and Textiles will present 'Fashion’s Futures: Changing Currents and Forecasting the Future of Supply Chain Management'. Visiting lecturer Linnemore Nefdt from the Amsterdam Fashion Institute will present on the future of the world's original fashion centres such as New York, London and Paris. Nefdt will also discuss the role of fashion weeks in burgeoning fashion cities around the world.
Industry Liaison for the Council of Textile and Fashion Industries of Australia (TFIA) Paula Rogers will present on the future of both local and international supply chains. Rogers has 25 years experience in international supply chain management, including stints for one of Marks & Spencer's largest manufacturers and for Li & Fung Trading PLC in Hong Kong where she managed operations for over 6000 factories.
