NATIONAL: David Jones has flagged the roll out of 1000 'branded installations' in its national store network for labels including Sass & Bide.

The department store revealed it will unveil the brand installations in 2011-12 as part of its strategy to drive earnings. The plan was referenced during the company's roadshow presentation for international investors.

Fashion labels to be included in the installation program include Quicksilver and Roxy, Armani Jeans and Armani Collezioni, Seed Femme and Sass & Bide, along with tens – if not hundreds – of others.

The department store also indicated it will refurbish its Chadstone (VIC) and Warringah Mall (NSW) stores during the 2011-12 period.

In the more immediate future, the David Jones American Express credit card is scheduled for a relaunch. The retailer revealed the  October 2010 relaunch will include a new value proposition for customers and is geared at driving profits for 2013 and beyond.

The retailer affirmed trading in the first seven weeks of the 2010/11 financial year had been in line with expectations.
