No less than 5000 visitors flocked to the University of Technology in Sydney for its annual School of Design showcase - and as for participants in the event's catwalk show, which featured the work of fourth year fashion design students, exposure was only the start.
From the parade pictured, students Charlotte Hicks and Philippa Waters were selected as winner and runner up respectively for the NSW Business Chamber's 2008 Textile, Clothing, Footwear and Leather Industry Award.
Hicks took out a $10,000 cash prize comprising cash and in-kind support from the NSW Business Chamber, including advice on how to establish and run a successful business, as well as export market development assistance and tips on how to clinch accounts with overseas stores. Meanwhile runner-up Waters pocketed $1000 cash and NSW Business Chamber membership.
