NEW ZEALAND: Vision Marketing and Distribution has joined forces with prominent New Zealand fashion designer Trelise Cooper to design a range of sunglasses, over the counter glasses and reading glasses with a sunglass tint. The collection is currently on sale throughout Sunglass World stores in New Zealand, and Eyegear and Sunglass Direct stores in Australia. Retail price points for the collection are $189.95 for the sunglasses and $79.95 for the ready-to-wear glasses.

BALLINA: Team and schoolwear apparel manufacturer Gentle Giants Clothing has just launched its first retail store. The company, which has been in the rag trade for more than 20 years, has teamed up with local IT provider Ballina Mobile to develop software which enables customers in the new store, dubbed Gentle Giants Your Look, to design their own garments, including logos, artwork, colour, fabric and image. MELBOURNE: A new Direct Factory outlet has opened at Essendon Airport in Melbourne, creating approximately 600 new jobs. SYDNEY: The Australian Tax Office has issued a warning to employers that they have until Friday October 28 to lodge their September quarter superannuation guarantee contributions with a complying super fund or retirement savings account. The tax office said employers who do not meet the deadline for superannuation guarantee contributions must lodge a superannuation guarantee quarterly statement and pay the superannuation guarantee charge to the Tax Office.
